Ingredients

  • 1 12 oz. can Tecate or Tecate Light
  • 1 Fresh Lime (Cut into wedges) or Lime Juice
  • 2 Dashes Tabasco Hot Pepper Sauce
  • 1 Pinch Ground Black Pepper

Instructions

  • Begin by lifting the tab on the Tecate can just enough that it is lifted but DO NOT CRACK OPEN THE BEER. This is the most important part of the entire recipe and if the beer is opened, the rest of the recipe won’t work well.
  • Squeeze the lime/lime juice in the rim of the can until it is full.
  • Add a few dashes of Tabasco sauce to where the mouth of the can is. (Add more if you like a spicy drink!)
  • Sprinkle some black pepper above the mouth of the can as well to give the drink an ashy look. (Hence the ashtray in the name)
  • Crack open the beer and enjoy! There should be a nice michelada-like flavor from the combination of the beer, lime juice, hot sauce, and pepper.

Notes

This is an awesome drink to go with your favorite Mexican foods or on a nice summer day!
